Cordelle Wedding Reveal: #brideandcroom
Two years ago, our team made a unique request to a couple we’d never met. We were looking to plan a proposal. Originally, the proposal was going to be a planning project for our intern team. But, after some discussion, we quickly realized how impactful this project could be. So, we decided to make it a real proposal and started looking for a real couple. It wasn’t long before we stumbled upon Lindsey and Austin through a wedding planner friend.
I made the call to Austin on a fall afternoon, gently pushing him to make a decision but nearly begging him to not pursue this if it wasn’t the right time. Within a month, the ring was bought, the proposal planned and family prepared to join in the surprise. Somehow, we managed to pull off the most romantic day, rain included. Watch the proposal below!
After the proposal, we’d never dreamed the Chicago-loving couple would come back to Nashville for their wedding. But, we were their first call and started planning in early 2016 for a wedding in fall 2017. When Lindsey and Austin came for their venue scouting meetings, I was 17-weeks pregnant with Clyde and had a yucky flu bug. I missed all their meetings and had to rely heavily on the venue managers to help them through the initial scouting process.
By far, this was the longest planning cycle of my career. We’ve had some interesting planning processes including a sweet couple that booked their venue and our team before they were engaged -- true story. But, a two-year planning process takes the cake! We’re so grateful for the time we had with Lindsey and Austin, and for the freedom they gave us to make their wedding really an experience.
We hosted a mid-day ceremony at the Cathedral of Incarnation and an early cocktail hour immediately after at The Cordelle. We had to add hours to our rental at the Cordelle to ensure we had plenty of time to get the bridal party prepared, host the first look and set the space before we left for the ceremony. With a little rain for luck, we had to pull most of our outdoor elements inside and onto the porch. We planned so many fun details for Lindsey and Austin including the custom bar menu with affixed law books, full tablescapes with our taper candles and glass surrounds and gorgeous, textured linens from La Tavola. Of course, our Lucy farm tables made an appareance paired with our bistro chairs! My favorite detail, the Chicago popcorn as guest favors!
