The Cordelle: Rainy Summer Wedding

For Sarah and Nelson, planning started about 18-months before their big day!  Nelson was in law school and Nelson wanted to wait to marry until after the Bar exam and post-graduation!  So, we scouted a handful of venues from the zoo to symphony.  We ultimately landed on The Cordelle and it was the perfect backdrop to Sarah’s style.

From our Lucy farm tables to the blue hints, Sarah and Nelson hosted a comfortable, classic wedding for 150 guests.  Because of the heat expected, it was an August wedding, we decided to plan the ceremony inside the Victorian room.  During cocktail hour, we did a complete flip of the space to setup for dinner as guests enjoyed drinks on the porch.

We built a rope installation specific for the ceremony with a nod to the Cordelle’s history.  And, our favorite moment, a “contract” signing during the ceremony that loosened up guests and made for a memorable ceremony.  The contract expires every year and requires resigning according to Nelson, the attorney!

At night’s end, guests sent off the newlyweds with white lit balloons - a great alternative to sparklers!
