Carnton Plantation Wedding Reveal: #marrythatboyd
On a rainy Saturday in late April, we hosted Christie and Brandon’s stunning BHLDN-inspired wedding at Carnton Plantation in Franklin! Christie is an Excel spreadsheet-loving and list making bride. We had a 30-page inspiration document with corresponding photos. I love the effort and time she spent on making sure her vendor team was prepared and informed.
During Christie’s planning, we were introduced to Anna Brown of Olive Juice Press! Immediately, I connected with sweet Anna and we became fast friends. Anna, a college friend of Christie’s, created all of the details and stationery items! From the coffee menus to the place cards to the seating chart and dinner menu. We’re not sure where we’d be without Anna in our business now. And, without Christie, I wonder if our paths would have crossed with Anna.
Christie dreamed of an outdoor wedding under that gorgeous tree in Carnton’s garden that's witnessed so much history from war to weddings. And, she had plans to host an al fresco dinner — no tent wanted! But, with rain in the forecast, we had to make a rain plan call a few days before the wedding. With a tent in place, we hoped the ceremony would continue as planned. We waited to make the call until about a half hour before the ceremony. As a storm blew through, we waited it out and offered guests our umbrellas! We wiped rain from ceremony chairs as guests arrived and the ceremony proceeded under the tree!
Our Lucy farm tables made an appearance at the reception including of our round farm tables for the cake table! With so many well-planned details, I think the UT pompoms during send-off were my favroite detail as Rocky Top played!
